Friends

The word 'friend' is defined as people who have physical or emotional relationships with us. They surround us and they socialise and communicate with us on an everyday basis or on a once in a blue moon basis. This relationship may be benefit-oriented or may be mutually emotionally-affected. Therefor to clear up the mess of having so many kinds of friends, let me help you classify friends into three big categories that will generalise the friends that you have.

Firstly, there are the "hi and bye" friends who randomly occur in your life and you are just mere acquaintances and do not have any strong emotional relationships. These friends just appear in your life at different stages without too long and you do not really care about these friends because you do not really have the chances to understand them at a deeper level. These friends are most probably benefit-oriented in their friendship towards you because they do not really want to share their emotional side with you. In my opinion, these are the friends that you do not have to put too much emphasis on.

On the second level, there are the "everyday" friends. These are the people that you see and come into contact with on an everyday basis. These people are the ones that you interact physically the most. But, that does not necessarily mean that they are emotionally attached to you. These friends may also be benefit-oriented in their attitude towards you. Although you may think you are very close tot hem but they are the ones who most often exploit you in return for their own gain.

On the final level, there are the "closely-knit" friends who are the ones that are always there for you. However, you may really feel that way towards them but these friends are the ones that will comfort you in times of hardships that you are going to go through. These friends that will go all the way for you in the same way as you would for them. I believe these are the true friends that one can only hope to look for because "a friend in need is a friend indeed" and these friends are hard to come by. Therefor these friends should be cherished dearly if you have found one already. However, if you have not, do not worry because only time can tell your true friends.

Therefore in a nutshell, I believe that true friends are too easy to find but true friends are always the hardest to come by. Hopefully, everyone will have one in their lives.

Healthy Eating

Healthy eating is not about strict nutrition philosophies, staying unrealistically thin, or depriving yourself of the food you love. Rather, it's about feeling great, having more energy and keeping youself as healthy as possible - all of which can be achieved by learning some nutrition basics and using them in a way that works for you.

Healthy eating begins with learning "how to eat smart"-it's not just what you eat, but how you eat. Your food choices can reduce your risk of illness such as heart disease, cancer and diabetes, as well as defend against depression. Additionally, learning the habits of healthy eating can boost your energy, sharpen your memory and stabalise your mood. You can expand your range of healthy food choices and learn how to plan ahead to create and maintain a satisfying, healthy diet.

ONE MAN BAND

There are some themes that we can find in the video clip, One Man Band. One of the themes is competition. The story started with a musician playing a violin to attract a little girl who had a gold coin with her. When the girl approached the him and wanted to give him the coin, another musician came out and competed with him. Both musicians showed their performances but their competition scared the little girl and the coin fell into the drain.

Education losing its vaule?

Today, it seems to be universally accepted that increased education is a good thing. Thousands of colleges and millions of students spend vast amounts of time and money chasing pieces of paper. But what is the value of these qualifications? This essay will discuss whether education has been devalued.

Supporters of education say that increased levels of education will open doors for students. Certificates, diplomas, and degrees are held up as a status symbol, a passport to a private club of money and power.

However, the truly powerful are not those with degrees, but people who stand back and look at what is really important in life. These people are found in every part of society. Like many brilliant people, Einstein was a weak math student. Like many successful businessmen, Bill Gates never completed college. Like many inventive and creative people, Edison never went to school. The greatest religious teachers do not have letters after their name. Similarly, many of the world’s political leaders do not have master’s degrees or doctorates. These are the people who shape our lives, and they are too busy with real life to spend time in the paper chase.

Students in college are being sold an illusion. They are made to believe that self-understanding and society approval will come with the acquisition of a piece of paper. Instead of thinking for themselves, and finding their own personality and strengths, they are fitted like square pegs into round holes, in so-called professional jobs.

The role of education is to prepare masses of people to operate at low levels of ability in a very limited and restricted range of activities. Some of these activities are perhaps more challenging than the assembly lines of the past, but the ultimate purpose is equally uninteresting. More worryingly, despite the increased level of education, people are still not genuinely expected to think for themselves. In fact, the longer years of schooling make the job of brainwashing even easier.

There is still a role for study, research, and education. However, we need to examine our emphasis on education for the sake of a piece of paper, and to learn the real meaning and revolutionary challenge of knowledge.

Is competition good?

Competition have been a part of our society since the race of mankind was first discovered. Competition is well known as the act of competing against two parties over an issue or problem. It is a common activity in our society in the 21st century. Competition can happen everywhere without considering when, where, how or why. It will arise whenever two or more parties fight to strive for a goal that cannot be shared between one another. This goal we are addressing can be anything such as money, power, land, beauty, pride and the list just never comes to an end.Over the years the question should competition be practised in our society have been debated heavily. After all, as all cycles in life competition have it's best and worst to offer. But the question is is competition good? Is it necessary in our life? Does it bring more benefits than harm?

"Competition is the bridge to progress". Dear readers as illustrated in the saying before this without competition there will be no room for progression. When there is no competition, it will be impossible to identify the mistakes and we may not know where we stand if we do not have competitors. If there we no competition man would not have discovered their capabilities and strive for excellence and progress. Without competition man would not have set and break records. Man would not had came up with new invention that can change human life forever. People tend to learn from their mistakes and the only time people make mistake is when they are competing. A prefect example to support my statement would be the example of the nations in this earth. Every nation are fighting hard to be better than the other. Although some nations such as England, France, USA, China and Germany have always won the battle to development but still countries like Malaysia, India, Argentina and many more are always trying to match these power houses. But one thing for sure, this race to development have resulted in the improvement and betterment of countries who were once considered to be poor and undeveloped. For instance, Japan, Brazil, Thailand and many more.“If you're not making mistakes, you're not taking risks, and that means you're not going anywhere. The key is to make mistakes faster than the competition, so you have more changes to learn and win.”

Apart from that, competitions makes it easier for us to achieve the goals we have set for ourselves in life. Everyone has their respective dreams and goals to be achieved in life. "I'm not in competition with anybody but myself. My goal is to beat my last performance." To realize our dreams, competition plays a huge role whereby encouraging us to work harder towards what we aim to achieve. When we are surrounded by competitions we will always try hard not to be left behind or defeated by others. For example, in the corporate world every corporates have their vision and targets at the begin of the year and along the year they try hard to achieve the standards set by themselves. The standing and the ability of a company can only be measured by its achievement and goal achievement. To make things easier, we can take an example of the famous sports athlete Roger Federer. Roger is no stranger to the tennis world. His achievement in tennis is outstanding and he holds the record for the most grand slam won by a man. His secrets were simple whereby he lists his goals for the year and compete to achieve it. Although sometimes he might end up not fulfilling his goal but a thing for sure is that everytime he competes he prepare himself to live up to his goal and dream of becoming the greatest tennis player ever.

In a nutshell,Diane Sawyer have quoted that "Competition is easier to accept if you realize it is not an act of oppression or abrasion- I've worked with my best friends in direct competition". Therefore, there is no longer doubt that competition is only for the betterment of mankind and posses no more than benefits. We can't imagine a world without competition even for a glimpse of second because when everyone are equal in the sight of others there will be no motive for god's creation of us.

One Man Band

We can see that both of the street musicians have collaborated with each other to persuade the little girl to get the gold coins that the little girl holding. But the gold coin fell into the drain, how unfortunate of the street musicians. After that, the street musicians are also collaborate to take the gold coin that the little girl measles to the top of the fountain.

Does access to condom prevent teen pregnancy?

Teen pregnancy have become a hot topic lately. Almost everyday we can come across an article in the newspaper reporting on teen pregnancy. Teen pregnancy is the cause of open sex between teenagers. So can we make a conclusion that abolishing sex between teenagers can prevent teen pregnancy? The answer is NO...Why? Not one or two, but tens of measures have been taken to abolish teen sex, but all end with despair. Strengthening the teenagers influence in religion since small, law enforcement and organising health campaigns are all the story of the past. This few measures have all turn into failure. We can't stop this bunch of group so called teenagers from having sex. No matter what measure are done, it is impossible to prevent teenagers from having open sex. Mind as well we make sure that their act doesn't turn into a disaster for instance teen pregnancy. This is where condoms come to handy. At the end of the day our prime objective is to prevent teen pregnancy.

We have to stop pretending teens do not have sex, and instead provide access to birth control! Although parents do not like to admit it, teens everywhere, all the time are having sexual relations. Parents try their best to raise their children until they are able to stand on their feet, teach them right and wrong, and the appropriate behaviour and inappropriate behaviour. However teenage sexual relations have little to do with parents, and much more to do with teenage culture and peer pressure. Teenage these days are more exposed to the outside world compared to teenagers 10 years ago. Teenage now are more rebellious and have greater intuition to explore new things that seem exciting, awesome and cool. Sex is, and will always be, one of the these things. Since the desire is strong to explore sex is a given, the best thing we can do is to provide teens with access to birth control, including condoms. With this, teenage pregnancy can not only be control but abolished in a long run.

With easier access to condom, teen pregnancy can be controlled because it makes easier for teen to choose safe sex. Stop giving talks and education on why teenagers should not have sex and the effects of having open sex instead expose them to methods of contraception, like condoms. Teenagers understand that having sex at a younger age is wrong but that did not stop them from still trying it. Unprotected sex has a chance of causing pregnancy. And once a teenager experiences their first bout sex, they are unlikely to stop. So it would be a matter of time before the unprotected sex turn into pregnancy. Even though teenagers are aware of the exist of condoms but why are they not in keen using it. This is simply because going to a pharmacy and purchasing a condom would make them look bad in front of the others.

In a nutshell, sex can't be prevented and as long as unprotected sex still takes place teen pregnancy will still continue to flourish. Everyone are trying hard to prevent teenagers or more commonly known as the future leaders from having sexual intercourse at a very young age, but sadly to inform all the efforts and time spent are just a waste. It is time to put a stop on what we are doing all the while to abolish open sex and time to shift to a new plan. It is time to turn to condoms as the ideal solution for these rising issue. Countries like The United States of America, Canada, United Kingdom and many others have identified this and have shifted to promoting condoms in order to promote a safer sex between teenagers. Therefore, as more time we waste, the more the number of unlawful babies are born to this world and end up in places like public toilets and garbage sited. Finally there is no doubt access to condom does prevent teen pregnancy.
